Weekly Hot Tub Care

  • Test Water

    • Use test strips or a test kit. Check chlorine/bromine, pH, alkalinity, and hardness.

  • Adjust Sanitizer

    • Add chlorine/bromine to keep levels in the safe range (usually 3–5 ppm for chlorine, 3–6 ppm for bromine).

  • Balance pH & Alkalinity

    • pH: 7.2–7.8

    • Alkalinity: 80–120 ppm

    • Use pH Up/Down or Alkalinity increaser as needed.

  • Shock the Water

    • Add a non-chlorine or chlorine shock to burn off oils, lotions, and contaminants.

  • Clean Waterline

    • Wipe away any scum or residue around the shell.
